Jason Klein is currently the Director of P-20 Initiatives at Northern Illinois University. In this role, he facilitates the P-20 Network to support school district and community college leaders, engages in statewide and local research projects, and working with directly with educators on implementing statewide policies and instructional improvement. Jason also helps facilitate outreach with educators and the public for the Illinois Report Card and Illinois Postsecondary Profiles websites. Prior to this role, Jason has served diverse communities of students and families as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago for nearly 25 years with a focus on creating authentic learning experiences for all learners and engaging all stakeholders, including students and parents, in meaningful school and district improvement processes. Jason earned his B.A. in the Teaching of History with a Minor in Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his M.S. in Educational Administration from Illinois State University, his Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Northern Illinois University, and his Ph.D. from Illinois State University in Educational Administration with a focus on educational law and policy and school finance.
