Join this diverse panel of educators as we discuss the importance of seeing all students as complex individuals, and recognize the lives of marginalized groups of students in the same way that we recognize white children’s lives. Implicit bias is nearly unavoidable but through concerted efforts, we can overcome this obstacle through relationships and individualizing our approach to each child to accommodate their interests, their culture, and who they are. Panelists are:
  • Teresa Lance, Ed.D,  Superintendent at Thornton Fractional 215
  • Andrea Kayne, Program Director & Associate Professor in Educational Leadership at DePaul University
  • Jennifer Farrell-Rottman, Chief of Network 3 of CPS
  • Kimberly Lloyd, a Chicago Police Officer working on her PhD. in Education
  • Roberto Torres, Dean of Instruction, Daley College (Richard J.) (CCC)
