It’s okay to have a bad day. It’s okay to laugh. The reality of our teaching jobs can be, let’s face it, kind of depressing sometimes. Between the negativity and judgments, we may have lost our joy. The government is constantly telling us how to do our jobs. Parents no longer support us. Administrations are using data to determine our worth. How do we take a step back to laugh? Where do we rediscover our purposes as educators? How do we come to embrace our weaknesses and showcase our strengths? Where do we find the joy in the constant negative? My desire is to answer these questions and your questions as we try to find the joy in our rooms and in our teaching community in our own different ways. I want to empower you to embrace the mess, teach all the things, and love and change all the lives.
