Schools are the main platforms that can disrupt cycles of injustice and hate. How do teachers take on the task of ensuring that all students are given equal opportunities of success in classrooms?  How do teachers present balanced perspectives and engage students in critical conversations about current events and global issues? This session will provide educators at all grade levels with practical methods to target implicit biases, implement culturally sustaining practices that are systematic, and engage all students on a global platform to build connections and expand classroom walls with the intent of promoting social justice and civic engagement.  Participants will learn how to integrate platforms like Flipgrid, connect with all stakeholders, and articulate and collaborate with global communities as tools to understand and appreciate our diverse country and other parts of the world, including different religions, cultures, and points of view, as essential elements of global and cultural competence.
