The ability to craft an engaging story is a pretty special skill, especially when it captures the hearts of various groups of people. In a school, it can be extremely difficult to effectively share all that happens during and after the school day; however, crafting and sharing a school’s story can create a pulse for staff members, students, and the community by creating a sense of belonging and generating excitement for the school. Luckily, leaders, teachers, and even students can utilize social media and other impressive digital resources to creatively share their classroom or school’s story with a larger audience. If done effectively, the storyteller will capture and share the pulse of a school and evoke enthusiasm surrounding the awesome things happening on a day to day basis. In addition, it provides opportunities for sharing important information and offering choice and voice when it comes to all aspects of the school environment. During this session, attendees will learn more about the power of digital storytelling and how to use it to motivate, inform, engage, and unify a school and its surrounding community.
