Online learning provides individualized learning and provides opportunities not available in a traditional classroom. If corporations are using some form of online learning, colleges are increasing their online requirements and offerings, how can we, as teachers, prepare our high school students for the online individualized learning before they graduate?
This session will discuss an alternative to the traditional classroom setting, look at why students should learn online, and what you need to know to start an online course in your school.
In this session you will see a course that integrates economic concepts in combination with the development of financial literacy and consumer responsibility. Instruction centers on the role of individuals in the economy – as citizens, workers, and consumers. Students develop skills related to money management; decision-making, use of credit,
insurance, savings, investing, taxation, and consumer protection. A deeper understanding of the free enterprise system and laws of supply and demand are developed through real-life consumer simulations.
This session will also look at the question: So Why Learn Online? A multitude of reasons exist to participate online; regardless of the reason, online teaching can meet the needs of any student.
