Calibrating writing in grade level teams, as well as vertically articulating across grade levels, is powerful for teachers, administrators, and students. Using the data we collect from authentic student writing produced during Writing Workshop, we analyze what students control and set goals for improving writing instruction. Meaningful integration of digital tools, such as Seesaw, Flipgrid, Google Classroom, Book Creator, and Padlet can allow teachers more opportunities to share student work and spark meaningful discussions on student growth and achievement. In working to help students improve their writing instruction, we reference different digital tools that could help students meet their goals. Come and learn more about our calibration journey and how teachers can not only utilize technology to collaborate more effectively, but also what tools could be used to improve student learning through targeted instructional practices and specific feedback.
