Going Beyond Battle--Creating a Community of Readers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Are you interested in engaging and empowering your students with literature? Learn how our district has transformed the Battle of the Books. Competition is great...but having only one winner in reading is not. Our new vision, Bibliomania, is student centered learning focused on reading, thinking, creating, collaborating and sharing ideas. Our librarians took the challenge of integrating literacy in a meaningful way within the library and district literacy curriculum. Our goal is to create a community of readers that collaborate and think critically about what they are reading and develop meaningful projects about their reading.
