Technology coaching isn’t just for your teachers!  As a technology coach/specialist, you can partner with your school social workers, counselors, special education teachers, and other personnel that focus on student mental health and wellness.

Sometimes the biggest challenge is knowing where to start. I'll be joined by Marjorie Colindres, bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and member of our #D83Falcons team. She'll share insights on the challenges faced by school social workers, the solutions we've developed together, and what you need to know to be successful working her counterparts at your school!

Tech coaches/specialists/trainers/leaders will learn to build solutions to common challenges faced by social workers, and will receive downloads of the examples for your own use. We’ll share ideas on familiar G Suite (Google Apps) tools like Forms, Sheets, and Classroom as well as less commonly used tools like Keep, Expeditions.

Put these ideas into practice immediately to build another coaching connection and ally in serving your students. Specific resources we will share:
  • Set up a record keeping system with Google Forms and Sheets, with add-ons that improve efficiency.
  • Create a user-friendly behavior tracking system for daily use by teachers, including data analysis and reporting, for any student on a caseload..
  • Develop a check-in system for students that alerts you when a student is in crisis.
  • Organize calming music collaboratively with colleagues and students, and share it easily as needed.
  • Explore Virtual Reality as a tool for anxiety reduction.
This session is targeted to both tech coaches/specialists who want to support their SEL staff, as well as SEL professionals who want fresh ideas for increasing efficiency and effectiveness. G Suite for Education (Google) Apps will be the focus and access to / basic understanding of G Suite is a prerequisite.

Use technology to make time for what matters - connecting with students!
